Many of our doctoral students have started as research assistants in the group. We hire doctoral students mostly from Master's programmes that provide relevant background knowledge for our research areas, such as the major in Machine Learning and Data Mining (Macadamia), and also from HICT calls.
The most promising Bachelor students have also the opportunity to move directly to the Doctoral studies via the Doctoral track.
The best method to join our group is to enroll in Macadamia (The major in Machine Learning and Data Mining) or Bioinformatics, or some other relevant major at Aalto, proceed rapidly in the studies with good grades, and apply in our calls for summer interns. The majors also have honors programmes.
